Rich - ok... somewhat of a perfect weekend. i got everything I wanted to acomplish on my local server done, and I have envisioned the next small piece to do. I will be handling PDF files (and probably MP#, although I don't plan on offering too many of them) differntly than the other text based files my local server will be serving up. but at least for now will be offering them in a PDF directory with subfoldes for the various major breakdowns like history, politics, the arts, and sciences. I already had a PDF delivery mechanism, so I will simply adjust that older mechanism to the newer world, and will be off to the races. I am having slight trouble with the RTF display, but that has been overcome with the finding of a nice little editor that handles things in html format. and since all my RTF files were created from captures of other web pages, instead of capturing them to RTF i will be capturing them to html directly now.. In the past, I found it handier to capture an web page to RTF since I had an editor that allowed me edit those files without much trouble. But now that I have found a html editor that acts in a similar way, Compozer, http://kompozer.net/ I will be manipuating my local files mostly with that, so the RTF thing, is really something that I will be moving past out into the future. All in all a very enjoyable, relaxing fun weekend of web work and fun.
